The 7 Pillars of Your Life Purpose Foundation – Part 2

Once you have figured out how to eat, drink and supplement (in part I of this article) to make sure your body has the fuel and building materials it needs to maintain and repair your physical body and it’s functions, you can go deeper into creating a solid foundation on which to build your Life Purpose.

Now let’s look at 4 more pillars that are essential to give you a solid support as you embark on the journey of your life!

4. Sleeping

If you are short changing yourself on sleep to get more work done you are literally shooting yourself in the foot! Sleep deprivation accumulates and it is very hard, if not impossible, to make it up.

When we sleep we get so much more than rest. During sleep you slip out of waking consciousness and go back to Source to drink from its dynamic well and come back refreshed and renewed. While you “are gone” and still, your body’s repair crew is given the opportunity to repair and maintain your physical vehicle.

The hours of shuteye you get before midnight are extra valuable, so be sure to have a routine where you step away from bright lights, screens and stimulating activities 1-2 hours before bed time. This will release sleep hormones that will make your eyelids heavy around 10 pm.

5. Moving & Playing

Lots of activity is happening between our ears all day long these days, as we engage with your friends and do our work on computers. It is easy to feel like we’ve had a busy day but have hardly moved our bodies!

For some of us “exercise” is a heavy word, so I prefer to use “moving and playing” instead. Make sure you do things you enjoy that involve using your body. For some it may mean doing sports, for others it can be dance, gardening, hiking and so on.

Doing some of this movement and play outdoors will bring you two more essential component of a strong platform, sunshine and fresh air.

6. Environment

Being in a place of order and beauty is like rocket fuel for your life purpose. The environment you spend your days in may not seem like very important but it sends a subtle message all day long about how you value and treat yourself.

Surround yourself with photos and mementos that inspire you to be all that you can and gives you space to grow.

7. Relationships

We can’t choose the families we are born into, but we can choose to on a regular basis surround ourselves with positive individuals who are also going for it in life and want to be all that they can and be of their highest service!

Bring awareness and intense presence to relationships in your life that are challenging and hold the intention to raise the frequency of those you share your days with (instead of being pulled down).

The 7 Pillars covered here are foundational and will set the stage to give you the space and energy you need to live out your purpose in life! Ready for more? Parkinomics: Thrive In The New Economy by Alexia Parks

As the world grows “flat,” as people in developing countries become better educated, as jobs become more competitive, as China becomes the largest English speaking country in the world, you begin to know deep down, that it is time to let go and change.

Right now is a good time to change your life, your mind, and even your diet. In short, it is time to change everything that keeps you stuck in uncertainty. Why?

Uncertainty about the future causes stress. You can learn to live stress free and fearless. You can act as if you were a rock-climber who never knew whether you would make it safely up or down. I’m here to tell you that the process of change will make you stronger. Just focus on the positive, what is working in your life. Each positive thought or point of focus is like a handhold or a toehold to lift you higher, or bring you safely down to solid ground.

Facing risk with courage is an intensely powerful experience. Many good things emerge from putting yourself in seemingly impossible situations then finding that single handhold or a new route that moves you forward.

A Rite of Passage

You can change your relationship to money, reinvent yourself, and if you like, choose a different future.

Why change? Right now, the Global Economy is disconnecting from the old economic model of civilization, where profits, not people, come first. Aided by global warming and climate change, economic change is accelerating. It is moving in the direction of the New Economy with a foundation based on sustainability and a respect for all Life. Call it a Global Warming of the Heart.

In this transition, you have a role to play as a change agent. As you find solid ground, you are a step ahead of the rest of society. You are letting go of what doesn’t work, and pioneering new pathways into a future based on self-reliance and self-responsibility.

In Megatrends 2010, the Rise of Conscious Capitalism, author Patricia Aburdene agrees: “Mainstream business is under siege, from activists and regulators as expected, but even from investors.” And all the barricades in the world cannot defend it. Because the most dangerous adversary of all – a transformed individual – lies within…. Does this idea speak to you?

A Higher Good

As the economy shifts away from funding fear-based consumerism, the industry of endless war, it will move toward “purposeful” money, conscious capitalism that that wants to do good in the world, that seeks to fund a higher good.

So, what is this higher good? Is it free education for all? Universal healthcare? Housing for the homeless? Sustainability? Stewardship of Nature? Democracy that truly represents all people? Is it a higher good in support of what works and what’s possible, the arts, and the micro-entrepreneur? It is all of the above.

Right now, as the world economy changes at lightening speed, new opportunities are opening up. You are in the right place at the right time.

Why Parkinomics? Statistics show that 61% of all Americans want to start their own business. The book describes an emerging economic trend where with the right attitude, and free of fear, people can expand in the direction of their own skills, talents, and passions. Call it “living your Life Purpose,” or Conscious Capitalism.

A transformed individual? Yes! A dropout? Not necessarily. If one of the 8 PROFILES in the book fits you, stop looking for a job, and start creating your dream job. Click here for more about the book.

About Alexia Park: Visionary entrepreneur, Huffington Post, and Intent.com blogger and former correspondent for the national desk of The Washington Post, Alexia Parks, is the author of 8 books. In Parkinomics, she focuses her attention on jobs and money in the New Economy. She has defined a whole new concept: Parkinomics.

The 7 Pillars of Your Life Purpose Foundation – Part I

PillarsJust like you can’t build a house on a beach, you can’t create a life purpose inspired business, without a proper foundation. Building on a weak, unstable or shifting surface means that it ‘s only a matter of time before the whole thing comes crashing down…

A business is something very real, very tangible and very rooted in the physical world. A business involves having systems and processes in place to deal with clients, inventory, money and paper trails. To be in a position to get all of that set up you must have the resources and be in a space, mentally and physically that supports you.

When I talk about resources I am especially referring to your energy level, since many aspiring purpose entrepreneurs are running on fumes, or a very low gas tank.

Today I want to share the first 3 of the 7 Pillars I have used to build a solid foundation for my business and life, since when you’re a purpose entrepreneur there is no real separation between the two of them.

Pillar 1: Eating

We all know the saying “garbage in – garbage out” and it also goes for how you feed yourself. Eating foods with lots of bulk but few nutrients won’t give you the energy you need to stay energized and focus.

Complicated diets have never appealed to me and being on a diet is often associated with depriving yourself and setting yourself up for potential binging and failure down the road.
Instead take a common sense approach to your food intake and eat nutrient dense foods.

Nutrient dense foods have lots of nutrients per unit of food compared to nutrient sparse foods. Eating foods as close to their natural state as possible and having a nice mix of greens, veggies, quality proteins, nuts, seeds and whole grains usually does the trick. Eating sufficient proteins and good fats usually tame sweet cravings that can wreck havoc in an otherwise healthy diet.

Pillar 2: Drinking

You may not pay much attention to your intake of liquids during a day, but your
energy level and intake of hydrating fluids are closely connected.
All drinks are not created equally, some are actually dehydrating, and we call those beverages.

All your body really needs when it comes to drinks is water, since we are more than 50% water. Our cells thirst for water and need it to function properly.

Fill up a large carafe with water a couple of times a day and make sure it is finished by the end of the day. Keep sipping all day long to stay clear and focused!

And don’t forget to compensate at a 1:1 ratio for any dehydrating beverages like coffee or tea. That means for each cup of coffee you drink an extra cup of water.

Pillar 3: Supplementing

It would be nice if we could get all of our required nutrients from our diet, but unfortunately that is difficult. I like a simple approach to supplementation and when we take our pills, powders and liquids on most days we’re likely to fill any nutrient gaps.

I take and recommend a daily green drink with powdered vitamin C, a liquid multi-vitamin and pro-biotics for a healthy gut flora. To get those essential fatty acids and vitamin D, take fish oil in the summer and cod liver oil in the winter. Most ladies should also take
a calcium supplement at bedtime to ensure strong bones.

Now take inventory on how you are doing with the quality of your foods, the quantity of your water intake, and your supplementation. I will share 4 more Pillars on which to build a strong foundation for your life and business soon, until then go live life to your full potential!

How Brightly Do You Shine?

Bright Sun The sun is the centre of our solar system, and our home planet circles the sun each calendar year. The sun makes life possible here on Earth and we ingest its energy indirectly from the plant and animal foods we eat. We need sunlight on our skin to produce vitamin D for strong bones and immunity. Sunlight is also essential for our mental
emotional health and well being.

The sun decides how we count the months of the year, the hours, minutes and seconds of the day. We truly are light beings, influenced at so many levels by a gigantic ball of fire.

As light beings ourselves we are also able to produce our own light, our inner light shines through our eyes, skin and energy field. Living life “on purpose” is an important part of keeping that inner flame going.

When we are “off purpose” and not connected to, and expressing our unique purpose in life, our inner light is dampened. There are several indications that you are not shining as brightly as you could, impacting your physical, mental and soul/spiritual wellbeing. Let’s take a closer look at some of the manifestations of an inner light “on low”.

Signs & Symptoms Your Inner Light Is Low:

1. Physical Symptoms

Health problems and various diseases are more likely to find a home in you when your inner light is low. This is because your vibrational frequency is lower and a good match to many diseases. As a general rule, taking individual skin pigmentation into account, the healthier you are, the more sunshine can you take without burning.

A great example is healthy and active children who run around all day long in the sun without getting sunburn. A person who is ill or in convalescence must be very careful with how much sun they are exposed to since they burn easily. What we are seeing here is your inner light’s ability to “match” the outer light of the sun. The stronger your inner light, the more sunshine can you receive.

2. Mental Symptoms

Anyone who has ever experienced SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) is well aware that the lack of sunlight during dark winter months can have severe impact on your mood, general well being and “joie de vivre”. By making sure your inner light is burning brightly you are reducing the need and your sensitivity to fluctuations in the availability of the outer light.

3. Soul Spiritual Symptoms

We’ve all heard the expression “going to the dark side of the moon” describing a
spiritual crisis where a desperate search for meaning is playing out in a place
seemingly void of light
. A crisis is an opportunity to quickly let go of old patterns that are no longer working and step into a new way of being and doing that ignites your inner light.

There are several ways to boost your inner light with a healthy lifestyle and sound relationships being the obvious ones. Leading a life that brings meaning and purpose on a very personal level, allowing you to connect with and express your unique gifts, in another surefire way to boost your inner light. A great place to start is to have a “Life
Purpose Profile™”
and deepen your understanding of what you are all about on a
soul level.

The Reluctant Leaders who Change the World

TroubleLeadership comes easily to some and they are natural born leaders from a young age. Others are happy to do their own thing, and hopefully at least be in control of their lives.

This may be working fine until they awaken to a desire to find deeper meaning in their lives and to be of service in a way that truly matters. When that happens we often find ourselves writing our own job descriptions and becoming entrepreneurs because we no longer “fit” into the corporate world.

The sooner you realize that you are now a leader, and on top of that, a new kind of leader, the better. Not stepping into this new role consciously will greatly hamper your ability to reach those whose lives you went into business to touch.

Here are 3 things that define and support the “Reluctant Leaders” that are slowly but surely changing our world, one Life Purpose at a time…

1. You Are Called to Entrepreneurship by Your Purpose in Life

When you make the conscious decision to step into your purpose and express it to the best of your ability, you are being very courageous. Deep inside you know that this what you have to do, and that there is no other path for you to live in your truth.

Also, you are done with the pain and frustration that comes from ignoring the voice of your higher self, playing it safe and playing it small!

2. Having and Holding a Big Vision

As you embrace this new role it is very easy to get bogged down by all the details of suddenly wearing several hats to make your business run. But it is essential that you consistently allow for space so you can stay in touch with the dream and vision you had when you started your venture.

Failing to do so you may get lost in details and wonder what you were thinking when you gave up the security of a steady paycheck.

One of the key things for those who become entrepreneurs so they can express their purpose in life, I call them Purpose Entrepreneurs, is to stay in touch with their vision. Every day you need to remind yourself of why you are in business and how you want to touch people.  Make sure you check in with your big vision when you make decisions so you don’t end up playing small…

As a Purpose Entrepreneur you are a leader (even if you don’t feel like one and this is new to you) and a big part of your job as a leader, is to spread your excitement and the vibrant energy inherent within your core message, and make sure it rubs off on your clients, colleges, and ever expanding network of people who’s path you cross.

3. Building and Leading a Team

The fact that just because you can do something yourself doesn’t necessarily mean that you should, is one of the hardest things to learn, especially when time and cash flow is tight. To successfully express your purpose you must once again be a leader as you build your support team.

If leadership is new to you the learning curve will be steep as you figure out how to hire (and fire), create reproducible systems and master the art of delegation.

By being a leader for your team you are able to leverage yourself so you can reach more people and let your purpose be released out into the world and change it for the better. If you ever have doubt, just ask yourself how that will make you feel and you will get the fuel you need to keep it up!

To embrace yourself as a Leader, it is really helpful to be aware what your Life Purpose Profile reveals when it comes to Power and Leadership, and why you may have issues in this area. Order your “Life Purpose Profile™” by clicking this link.

What Is Worse? – You Want It All or Nothing Appeals

What is worse, not knowing what you like, or liking almost everything so you don’t know what to pursue? Let’s figure out how to solve both of these dilemmas.

Some of the people I work with suffer from not knowing their passions in life. Nothing excites them, everything is kind of vanilla. If they don’t even know what they want for breakfast, how will they be able to figure out what to do with their lives that bring them meaning?

Then we have the polar opposite, in those who are excited about everything and run around chasing one butterfly prettier than the next. These people are great at finding things they like, but no more have they gotten started and something else that seems more exciting moves their focus away from what they just started…

I can relate to both of these situations, in my younger years I was not in touch with my true desire and didn’t know what it was supposed to feel like to get excited about something. That is probably one of the reasons I studied economics at university…

I then “awakened” after a health crisis and connected to (part of) my Life Purpose and suddenly so many things were calling out to me. I had a hard time sticking with anything for any length of time, since something even more exciting had come my way.

There seems to be a 3-step process happening, that I have observed both in myself and in many of my clients that I would like to take you through. It is possible to be connected to your heart’s desire AND have the ability to know what things to pursue and which ones to put on the back burner, or not do at all since they are not a good fit with what you’re all about.

Phase 1    ”I Don’t Know What I Like”

This phase if often characterized by a deep inner longing that just won’t go away. You know there is more for you to do in life, but what? Feeling lost and not connected to anything is painful, and unfortunately it often takes some kind of crisis to catapult someone out of this phase.

But why let it go on for so long that you invite crisis into your life? What seems to be happening more and more is that people are able to come to increased awareness by consciously re-activating their “desire function”. I say re-activating since your “desire function” was in the “on” position when you were born.

What likely turned it “off” was a slow and gradual process listening more and more to outside messages than to your inner voice as you made decisions in your life.

Phase 2    ”I Like So Many Things I Can’t Choose”

Here you have, often suddenly, or by gradually honoring your higher self and inner voice, reconnected with how it feels to like something. This feeling brings great excitement often followed by a desire to take action. The only problem is that so many things are exciting that you get overwhelmed and possibly confused in how to choose from the “smorgasbord” of life.

Phase 3    ”Let’s Add Discernment”

If phase 2, where excitement brings you all over the place, is not followed by increased discernment around who you are at the core of your being, and what you are here to do, and where you find deeper meaning, you risk “burning out” and returning to a more withdrawn phase 1.

That’s why it is so important to bring in discernment and gain awareness to see what path to pursue, and what “doings” will bring you your “right life”. Without being able to parse your “likes” through this filter you are still stuck since you can’t do it all.

When it is Essential to be Present!

TroubleThe Beatles song goes “Life is what happens while you are busy making other plans” and it’s so true that unless you are truly “home” to experience every moment of your life, it will go by and you won’t notice.

If you expect life to be smooth sailing you will likely get very frustrated as soon as stuff comes up, but life is designed to send challenges your way so you can keep learning and growing.

To get the most out of life and stay anchored in spite of what comes your way, it is essential to understand that we operate in a dual mode, I think of it as a cross. On the horizontal axis we move through time and “stuff” comes our way. On the vertical axis your connection to source energy and presence brings focus and resources, and there is always a calm here. Just like it is always calm at the bottom of a lake, even on the windiest of days.

If you think that your life is the ups and downs on the surface of the lake (the horizontal axis), you’re in for an exhausting roller coaster ride. But if you become aware that there is another reality within you, what comes your way during life is less daunting.

It is always important to be present to get the most out of your experiences, and to be able to be your best for yourself and for those in your life. But it is essential to be present in these 3 circumstances:

#1

As You Maneuver Rough Times

If you allow yourself to identify with emotions and thoughts when the going gets tough in your life, chances are that challenges, big and small, will take over your life and keep you stuck and likely in suffering.

Through presence you gain the clarity to see the difference between challenges you can do something about, and those that are out of your control, and then surrender to what is. This seizing of resistance will miraculously allow solutions to come in to your life that you are not privy to when you operate from resistance mode.

#2

So you Don’t Miss Those Special Moments

It is easy to fall into a pattern where we live for the big milestones in life and keep waiting for certain things, like a job or a relationship, before we start living for real. That way of thinking is nothing but an illusion and will likely rob you of those everyday gems your life is sprinkled with.

When you can be present in every moment you will be there fully to enjoy a happy hug from your child, the smell of grass in the summer, and other precious moments that easily are lost as you hurry towards the next big thing in your life.

#3

So You Stay On Purpose

Unless you consciously set your direction for what you want your life to be about, chances are that you are operating in default mode and are living somebody else’s agenda or even life! If that is the case, no wonder it is not bringing you that deeper meaning you are looking for…

To connect with what you are all about and what you are here to do it is crucial that you are fully in the moment. By being present you will find the expression of your purpose that is right for you right now. Those answers can only come from within yourself and only when you are “home”.

Don’t wake up to the realization that you have lived a life that wasn’t yours when you have run out of time and energy. Connect with your purpose and make it come alive by being in the moment everyday of your life starting with today.

Getting your “Life Purpose Profile™” will quickly and easily present you with the framework for your Purpose in life. It is then up to you to make it come alive by being in the now. Click here to order your “Life Purpose Profile™.

2 Powerful Steps to Lift the Fog Around Your Purpose

Have you ever wondered why you have such a hard time seeing with clarity what you are here to do? And why can’t you just have your purpose delivered with ease and be done with it?

That is as unlikely to happen as sounding like Itzhak Perlman the first time you pick the violin, and that you will play tennis like Serena Williams the first time you pick up a tennis racket.

What I am saying is that getting great clarity around your purpose is in many ways no different that accomplishing great achievements in other areas of your life. To play at your full potential, whether on the musical stage, tennis court or the grand stage of life, takes dedication, courage and faith. The only difference here is that there is no competition to be your very best and most authentic self. Everyone has the potential to be a winner!

You may not think it is fair that you have to put in effort to be able to step into the big shoes of your full potential and purpose, since it is yours, but let me explain with this simple analogy.

Imagine that your 16-year old is finally old enough to drive a car. On her 16th birthday will you hand over the keys to the brand new family car at her first request? Most of us wouldn’t because she has never sat in the driver’s seat before, and letting her drive your car will endanger herself and others on the road, along with the car and other material things she may drive into. Instead you would encourage her to take driving lessons and learn the rules of the road. It is for the exact same reasons you don’t get your grand life purpose handed over to you as soon as you are ready to find out what it is.

It is essential both for a new driver, and for those who search greater clarity around their purpose in life, to prepare so they are ready for the responsibility that is part of the package. So this initial resistance doesn’t mean that your teen will never get the to drive the family car, or that you won’t gain clarity around your purpose in life, it just means that you have some work to do before you are ready to receive the keys to the kingdom.

Here are two powerful steps, that when combined truly sets the stage to empower you with both energy and clarity around your essence.

Step 1 – Focus on Self-Care

Become acutely aware of how you manage your limited resources, such as time, money and energy, since they all have the potential to drain you if not managed with mindfulness.

Care for your body in such a way that you treat it with the respect it deserves since it is your vehicle during your journey through life.

When taking a close look at how you spend your resources and how you fuel your body you will likely become aware of habits, cravings, commitments and people that does not support your growth and drains your energy. Only you can correct that situation, nobody else. Make a plan to deal with them one by one, and be open to asking for and receiving the help you need if it is too much for you to handle on your own.

Step 2 – Understand Your Individual Life Purpose Profile

By becoming aware of the energies that must move through you on a continuous basis at your soul level during your life, is a very powerful way to understand what you are all about at the core. You will become aware of what energies you must have an outlet for to experience a deeper meaning, peace and purpose in your life.

Your Life Purpose Profile will also bring out into the light where you are most likely to get out of balance and what your blind spots are. When you “digest” this information and transform it into awareness around who you truly are, you are inviting greater clarity into your life.

By combining the suggestions under step 1 and 2 you give yourself a tune up both in body and mind and can expect powerful synergistic results. Learn more about your Individual Life Purpose Profile and how you can have yours done by clicking this link.

What Are You Resisting?

January 19, 2010 by admin
Filed under Blog, Master Your Mindset

TroubleWhen you are stuck or feel powerless in life it is usually because you are resisting something. You may have heard the saying “what you resists persists”, and it is so true.

A resistance is usually something that your ego mind is attached to. Your resistance fuels this lower part of yourself, and it has a vested interest to keep you exactly where you are, in resistance mode.

The limited vantage point of your ego mind has likely painted the issue in question into a corner and there is no apparent way out. You feel stuck, trapped and likely fed up, since matters seems to be out of your control…

We can resist at many different levels of our lives, from small issues to being stuck on a life size scale.

So how do we turn such a situation around and release you from the invisible bonds of resistance?

Below are two steps you can follow to identify and release resistance with conscious awareness:

1. Where Do You Feel Powerless?

Look at your life and identify where you feel powerless. Do you feel out of control when it comes to your income, career, relationship, your home or your weight?

The list can go on, what is important here is that you zero in on where you feel most stuck and out of control in your life.

2. Release and Reclaim

Now ask yourself honestly what you would have to give up to reclaim your power in that part of your life. You will be surprised at how quickly you have the answer. The answer is not coming from your limited ego mind; instead you have tapped into your higher self.

You may realize that for your career to move forward you need to move to a different city, or that you must risk rejection and put yourself out there in a new way to raise your income.

These insights present you with a clear choice, and when you have a choice you are never powerless. True, not all choices are easy to make and we often have to give up something that is dear to us to move forward with meaning in our lives.

Regardless of what you choose to do, you are now in a position to release the resistance and embrace what is, or take the plunge and give up something you have resisted to let go of.

It is when you are able to let go of things that are indeed a big deal to release, that big shifts happen. You have made room for new energy to enter your life by letting go of what no longer fits.

I have experienced this several times in my own life and one of the most profound shifts I had was when I was able to release my desire to move back to my country of origin, Sweden. It was huge for me to give up my home country and closeness to family and friends. When I stopped resisting my new home in Canada, things began moving into place with speed.

Do the exercise above and become aware of how much energy it takes to be stuck and in resistance, then enjoy reclaiming that energy and channeling it towards your purpose in life.

If you are looking for more clarity in your life with regards to your purpose if life, a Life Purpose Profile

where you fingerprints are decoded to reveal your unique energy profile, including that of your life purpose energy, may be a good place to start.
